Overview of job

The role of the Investment Director is to lead, manage and inspire the investment team to deliver gold standard implementation and trading practices.  They have trusted and influential relationships with clients and media partners.  They are responsible for driving innovation in the field of investment.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Head of Trading.

Measures of success –

In three months, you would have:

  • Built trusted and influential relationships with the team and senior clients that you work directly with day-to-day
  • Been trained on the Mindshare way of working and market leading investment tools
  • A thorough understanding of the Mindshare specialist business units and forged a collaborative relationship with the relevant team members

In six months, you would have:

  • Delivered a market point of view presentation to your client
  • Worked closely with the Head of Investment/Digital on investment deal management
  • Have written an investment strategy for your client

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Attended a training course that is aligned to your career ambition and part of your personal development plan
  • Contributed to the development of an award worthy campaign
  • Led the delivery of all contractual and commercial client requirements


Responsibilities of the role:

  • People – team leadership, development, coaching
  • Partner – ownership of the senior media partner relationships, driving investment thought leadership for clients
  • Product – ensure the team deliver best in class implementation and trading practices across all channels
  • Profit – oversees financial accuracy within team processes, spots new commercial opportunities for Mindshare


What you will need:

  • Ideally 8-10 years experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experienced and excellent client service skills (active listening, outcome focused, expectation management, project management)
  • Ability to articulate a strong and well-informed POV in meetings
  • Strong offline and digital experience – has been hands on in both areas
  • Experience in leading teams effectively (proven people skills, gives constructive feedback, ability to motivate and inspire)
  • Experience in the area of investment/trading and managing deals
  • Accountability, responsibility and passion for what you do
